Sweet, Sweet Victory.

Oh, we've found it, baby.

"Happy are those who dream dreams

and are ready to pay the price

to make them come true"

Those of you who know us well, know that we've been through our share of ups and downs, failures and triumphs, good times and bad. 2010 was a tough year for us, with countless health scares, family foils, several deaths, and just universal bad luck. 2011, though? This is our year. We've turned some corners, bandaged our wounds, and kept our heads held high...and finally, we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today, we sold our house. Our very first home...the home where we got engaged, the home we brought our first child into, the home where we've made a lifetime of memories. It's bittersweet, really - I'll miss this little house, but the memories will live on, and we'll make millions more. A house doesn't make a home, it's what's inside that counts. The love, the laughter, the tears, the joys, the sorrow, the family - this is what makes our house a home. And all of these things are packin' on up, and hitting the road with us! Our new home holds the promises of tomorrow, and we can't wait to begin our journey.

(Jaxson watching his buddy Clare put up our SOLD sign. Poor Jax is going to miss the frequent visits from our Realtor)

On top of selling our house, Trevor starts a new job as of Monday. It had been
privileged information for quite a while, but I think it's safe to say the cat is out of the bag, and we can finally shout it from the roof tops! We are VERY excited about this new opportunity. I have spent 6 long years living as a Tri-mach widow, spending countless nights eating dinner alone, or waiting up to the wee hours of the morning for my husband to come home from his latest 20 hour shift. Not to mention all the days I've had to bid farewell as he's left the city, province, or country on the latest job. Poor Trevor has worked harder than anyone I know, and has begun to wear himself out. It's time to lighten the load, and take a break. So this new job, working Monday to Friday, a normal 40 hour work week, is welcome by all of us, with open arms. Oh! And it's just a few short blocks from our new home...how perfect is that?!

New job, new house, new baby, new beginning. 2011 is our year.

***********

Before our evening ice cream celebration, I spent a damp, cool day with the kiddies, baking blueberry muffins and reading stories. It was the first day in what feels like forever, that I could laze around all day, and not worry about picking the toys up off the floor, or shining the sinks - it felt great.

Best. Ice Cream. Ever. If you've never been, you need to go. My fave is probably white chocolate with strawberries, but tonight I got Swiss chocolate with almonds and marshmallows. Yum! Trevor and Jaxson shared cotton candy with Gummi Bears.

Happy Hump Day!
